Since early childhood, I have considered making art, in any form whether expressing oneself, rythmically, poetically, visually in one’s own voice and it’s particular vibe is magic . Especially when you make something “from scratch” or in some cases scraps.

My name is Aileen Reyes also known as AileenCreates. I am a San Diego based, self taught multidisciplinairy artist born and raised in New York City. My work has ranged from poetry, photography and ink drawings, to sculptural work, logos, murals and wearable art. The use of various, found and recyclable materials as mediums has remained consistent, in the evolution of my work, partly out of instinct and survival, but also because it sparks further creativity and continued learning, producing art, that is often out of the box.
Intrigue is Inspiration.
Being self taught has been challenging at times, but it has also created an organic flow of resourcefulness and creativity that has informed most my work. I have never stoppeded trying to satisfy my need to make. New ideas are constantly blooming in new mediums and perpetual learning, which help in turning the wheels in my mind into work.
