Painting is always a form of free expression to me, much like the free movement in Jazz music. Most paintings begin without a solid plan, just an idea of the mood/or hue hat I want to capture to convey the specific inspiration. From its colors and voices the image is formed. I believe my paintings lean toward the raw, neo expressionist style and are heavily influenced by the art of the 1980’s , street artist such as Jean Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring. who were the first artists whose work I was regularly exposed to organically while growing up in the city and encountering it in transit.
